FAQ – Questions about Greece Airport Transfers

Who are we?

http://www.GreeceAirportTransfers.com is run by Roger Warwick from GoMadrid.com. This website has an agreement with the transfer provider WelcomePickups, an international company that offers private transfers in dozens of large European cities. GreeceAirportTransfers.com does not personally operate the transfers – we simply facilitate access to the best price quotes for this service which is operated by WelcomePickups. Once the transfer service is booked, Welcome Pickups is responsible for all logistical details according to the frequently asked questions below.

How do I book my transfer?

This site provides direct links to obtain the best price quotes for airport transfer services in cities in mainland Greece and the major Greek islands. If you follow these links, you will be presented with a simple form where you can fill in your Arrival point (e.g. airport), your Destination point (e.g. your hotel or other holiday accommodation), the time of your arrival, and number of passengers. Your personal details are also required so that you can remain informed (by email & SMS) of the journey and receive your driver’s contact details. You are asked to provide payment details, but remember that there is a 100% refund in case of cancellation, and you can edit or cancel all booked transfers up to 6 hours before.

What happens after I book my transfer?

After providing the information indicated above, your online booking is immediately confirmed by email. Four days before your transfer date, you will receive your driver’s details by email: name, photo and contact details. You will also receive instruction regarding the meeting point. Information about your transfer in Greece is sent to the email you specified in the booking, and if you provide a mobile telephone number, you will also receive SMS notifications for anything regarding your ride, up until the moment you meet at the arrivals area. The drivers know exactly where to find you and what to do in case of a delay or other event, so rest assured that everything will go according to plan.

How do I meet my driver?

Both you and your driver are informed of the assigned meeting point. The driver is always on time, with the help of the special Drivers’ Mobile Application which allows them to monitor your flight and arrival gate. In case of flight delays or cancellations, another driver is assigned to you but in any case, you will have the driver’s contact details in case of problems, so if you’re not able to locate your driver, please call them immediately. The driver will be waiting at the designated Meeting Point holding a welcome sign with your name on it. You will also be able to recognize the driver as you will have received his photo and contact details previously in your email. You will receive a welcome bag with a bottle of water and a city map.

How long will my driver wait for me if there is a delay?

For airport pickups in Greece, you are offered 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. If it takes you more than 60 minutes to exit the airport, please contact WelcomePickups support immediately at +1 (855) 665 6225. They will do their best to find an alternative solution for your transfer. Please be informed that the additional waiting time may result in additional charge based on the local regulation of each destination.

Will the local driver speak English?

All of our drivers speak very good English. And, being local, they can provide you with very useful tourist information about the city, depending on what you want to do. Please feel free to ask them any question, as if you they were a personal tour guide. Most drivers will also be able to organize extra services like city tours, visits to local attractions or restaurant bookings. The drivers are selected and trained in order for you to receive an excellent personalized experience, and they are continuously reviewed for their quality of service. Each of them has a unique personality, speaks good English, and they will be more than happy to welcome you to their city.

Can I cancel or change my transfer booking?

Yes, all bookings may be cancelled or changed up to 6 hours before the transfer time. In the case of cancellations, payment is fully refunded. If you request a cancellation when the assigned driver is already on his or her way to the pickup location or has already arrived at the Meeting Point, your booking is non-refundable.
